1972年出生于上海。1995年6月南京艺术学院美术系中国画专业本科毕业，获学士学位。1999年6月南京艺术学院美术系中国画专业研究生毕业，获硕士学位。任教于上海大学美术学院国画系，任系副主任。2005年入中国艺术研究院攻读博士学位。2008年?获得中国艺术研究院博士学位，研究方向为中国工笔人物画创作与研究。现任中国艺术研究院中国画院副院长。
