李呈修1960年出生，山东茌平县人。毕业于解放军艺术学院。现为中国美术家协会会员，国家一级美术师，中国华侨文学艺术家协会常务理事，九州出版社美术编审，清华大学美术学院访问学者。在长期的创作实践中潜心研究、探索中国画创作的新技法、新领域、坚持从生活中汲取营养，寻找创作灵感。
1987年毕业于解放军艺术学院，现为中国美术家协会会员，大地画会画家之一，中国华侨文学艺术家协会常务理事，现为中国美术家协会会员，国家一级美术师，中国华侨文学艺术家协会九州出版社美术副编审。他的作品曾多次参加全国美展，部分书画作品被美国、韩国、泰国、新加坡等国际友人收藏。其作品视觉冲击力强，既有现代观念的色彩斑斓，又具传统笔墨的秀润博大，内涵丰富耐人寻味。

1992年4月，中央电视台拍摄并播放《大地之星——记画家李呈修》的专题片；1999年，入典《当代中国书画名人图录》；
2002年2月，与大地同仁在北京人民大会堂分别向沂蒙老区济困助学基金会捐款10万元人民币，4月，与大地画会全体同仁赴四川写生，并在若尔盖民族寄宿制小学全程资助藏族贫困学生卓玛央宗，直至完成大学学业；
2003年春节期间，大地画会在中央电视台3频道《真情无限》节目中举行义卖活动，由画家李呈修为主执笔创作的大型国画作品《白云深处》义卖所得的10万元人民币，全部捐献给中国绿色环保组织；同年5月，在西部献爱心活动中，向中国妇女基金会捐献了国画新作……
