字大亭子，号巨真山人，生于河北清河，先后毕业于解放军艺术学院美术系和中国美术学院国画系贾又福工作室硕士研究生班，现为中国美术家协会会员、国际美协和中国画协会员，中国书画家联谊会理事，中国书法艺术研究院理事，世侨会艺委会理事，新加坡神州艺术院特聘院士，北京军区美术创作员，上校军衔.王巨亭自幼酷爱绘画艺术，擅长山水、人物，师从董寿平、刘大为、贾又福等名家。
作品多次参加国际和省级以上各类画展，获一、二等奖20余次。
其中：1994年，《春晓长城》参加中国著名画家赴日展并被日本天皇收藏；
1995年，《母爱》获“世妇会捐赠作品展”特别奖；
1997年，《江边渔家趣》获97中国著名画家三峡美术作品展特别荣誉金奖；《落叶归根》获港、澳、台、大陆大学生美术作品联展优秀奖；

曾在北京、河北、山东等地举办个人画展，多幅作品已被国家博物馆、电视台、中央美院及国内外知名人士所珍藏。曾参加中日韩文化技术交流活动，受到好评。《中国书画报》、《文化艺术报》、《中国时代画报》、《解放军报》、《战友报》、《国际商报》、《中国经济报》、《河北日报》、《中国学术嘹望》、《新闻与成才》、《北京晚报》等数十家报刊杂志为其撰文和发表作品。作品及传略被收入《中国著名书画家精品集》、《中日美术通鉴》、《中国画名家小品集》、《贾又福教学思想体系》等四是余部典籍。
