齐派著名画家王东常先生，1945年出生于湖南湘潭白石故里，系齐白石画派嫡传人(齐派掌门人齐良迟入室弟子)。现为齐白石艺术研究会终身名誉会长；齐白石纪念馆终身名誉副馆长；中国美术家协会会员。

其恩师齐良迟提笔留下墨印：“白石门下湘人画虾东常仁弟第一人。”师徒之间以兄弟相称，可见老师对学生的人品和对他继承齐派绘画水平的高度认可。

王东常师兄齐展义（齐白石孙子，现齐派掌门人）看了他的作品曾赞叹不已并提笔留下墨印：“先父良迟老人曾书写白石门下湘人画虾东常仁弟第一人。十数年后，余以为若论当今大江南北画齐派风格花卉之我辈能得白石老人身手造化者亦唯东常先生矣。”
