杨牧青，号草坪先生，法青居士，别署六非人士。著名书画家，艺术、文化、社会评论家，国学智慧研究者，民间智库建设推动人，中国书画国学系列公益讲座发起者、主讲人，率真书法与原生态大写意山水画艺术倡导者，水墨华山系列与陕西八景、水墨巴蜀、水墨三晋系列中国画艺术创作文化行发起人、首席主笔画家，当代中国最具收藏价值和投资潜力的艺术家之一。

特别是2007年冬十月，杨牧青（是年35岁）提出的中国山水画“东西宗论说”与晚明董其昌在《画禅室随笔》中所说的“南北宗论说（约公元1613年春二月，是年董59岁）”形成了一个新的呼应，扼要分析了董氏的艺术思想弊端，把粗犷、豪放、雄厚、大气磅礴的西部山水情怀得以文化性的彰显，使中国山水画在艺术实践与研究上拓宽了视野。
