季观之（1915.3~1996.4.20），字育椿，山东省烟台市人，擅长山水画。自幼酷爱国画艺术，早年入北平华北学院艺术系后转入辅仁大学美术系学习，西画师从海里赫斯(德籍)、白立鼎(澳籍)和关广志先生。中国画师从溥雪斋、于非闇、胡佩衡、汪慎生、陈缘督先生。1938年毕业生后曾任教于辅仁大学附中，同时担任湖社画会评议、北平美术会理事、监事等职，并与画友晏少翔、钟质夫、主持雪庐画社，活跃在北京画坛。1956年应聘到沈阳鲁迅美术学院，历任讲师、副教授、教授，中国美术家协会会员、中国美术家协会辽宁分会顾问。
先生的山水画初学王石谷，石涛，后学李成，郭熙，进而精研李唐，刘松年，马远，夏珪之法，同时泛鉴王蒙，吴仲圭，唐寅，仇英诸家，传统功力极深，所画山水能集各家之长，从事山水画创作和教学五十余年，足迹遍及大江南北、东北各地。他注重写生，致力于现实题材的开拓。他认为传统技法的认识只能通过实践来实现，曾多次带领学生到大自然中去吸取营养，积累素材。他引导学生传统技法与实践相结合，从大自然中寻求灵感。从先生的山水画中我们能够看到先生对大自然的沉浸与热爱。其山水画作品布局丰满严整，用笔坚实，挺拔，劲健，墨色浓郁，苍润，丰富，色彩沉着，明快，谐调，达到了既雄强浑厚又墨色淋漓的整体艺术效果，深得北国山川神韵，形成鲜明的自家风貌.先生多次参加国内外重大美术作品展览，亦多次举办个人画展及联展.先生淡泊名利，不求闻达，为人坦诚，与世无争，一生致力于绘画教育事业，留下大量优秀作品。作品有《井冈山黄洋界东望》、《列车穿过万重山》、《获塘晓晨》等。先生以他的艺术实践影响了东北画坛山水画界的一代人。正如朱丹先生所评价：“季观之先生的作品墨气洒脱隽爽，变化丰富微妙，蕴含北宗的骨力与绵密、南宗的挺拔与苍劲以及元人的苍茫与浑厚，又得北国山川丰韵，形成鲜明的自家风貌，堪称季家山水。
