石晓，1960年生于南京，1978年考入江苏省国画院，1983年毕业并留院工作，1988年赴日本留学，先后在日本武藏野美术大学和千叶大学攻读研究生课程。1991年回国，在江苏省国画院任人物画研究所所长，艺术委员会委员，现为中国美术家协会会员，江苏美术家协会理事，国家一级美术师，江苏省艺术高级职称评委，南京师范大学客坐教授，被省委宣传部评委”五个一批“工程优秀人才。其作品先后参加第六届，第八届，第九届，第十届全国美展，并在第九届全国美展中获铜奖，作品被中国美术馆，浙江省美术馆，江苏省美术馆等海内外多家机构收藏，先后在日本、美国、香港、台湾、上海、南京等地举办个展。出版个人画集多部。
1960年3月，生于南京。
1978年，考入江苏省国画院研究生班。
1979年，与全体同学赴敦煌参观学习，临摹考察莫高窟艺术二个月。
1981年，赴川藏地区写生。
1982年，随亚明先生赴苏州、东山等地写生。
1983年，在南京举办“江苏省国画院第二期学员班毕业展”，并留院从事专业创作。
1984年，作品《青藏高原是我家》入选全国第六届美展。同年赴青海、四川、诺尔盖、红原等地写生。
1985年，《牧歌》参加“前进中的中国青年全国美展”并获优秀奖。
1987年，参加在中国美术馆举办的“江苏省国画院十四人画展”，作品《东坡诗意》被中国美术馆收藏。
1988年6月赴日本留学，就读于武藏野美术大学研究生部，跟从著名美术史论家桑原住雄教授攻读艺术史。
1989年，“石晓个人画展”在日本东京中日友好会馆横滨中国画廊举办。
1990年，又入日本千叶大学大学院研究生部，攻读东方艺术史。
1991年，毕业论文《中日美术近代化过程之比较研究》在日本千叶大学学术杂志发表。同年6月回国。
“石晓个人画展”在香港收藏家画廊举办，香港《明报》刊登作品并有专题文章介绍。
1994年，作品《竹林七贤》参加第八届全国美展。
1996年，作品入选全国中国人物画展。
1997年，作品《赏春图》入选当代中国工笔画展，并获优秀奖。
1998年“春华秋实——江苏省国画院第二期学员班二十周年画展”在江苏省美术馆展出。作品《荷塘》获首届江苏省美术节银奖。
同年，被江苏省文化厅评为“135跨世纪人才培养对象”。
1999年，作品《荷风》参加第九届全国美术作品展，并获铜奖。
2000年，参加由中国文化部、中国美协主办的“第九届全国美展优秀作品展”，在日本美术馆、博物馆巡回展览，并出版大型画册《现代中国的美术》；
作品《室内》获“新江苏画派七彩世纪中国画大展”，获得金奖。
2001年，“闲情偶记——石晓近作展”在南京可一画廊举办。
2002年，出版《石晓画集》两本。
2003年，作品《午茶》获现代都市水墨画展金奖。
随画院同行赴美国举办画展，并考察参观大都会博物馆等地美术馆。
2004年，作品《初夏》入选第十届全国美展，并被浙江省美术馆收藏。
2005年，作品《闲》入选“第三届全国画院优秀作品展”。
2006年，被省委宣传部评为“五个一批工程”优秀人才。赴德国进修，并考察了欧洲各国的博物馆、美术馆。
2007年，参加省文化厅组织的“万里写生精品创作展”，作品获优秀奖。
2008年，参加江苏省国画院“国学三十年作品纪念展”，并出版《石晓画集》
2009年，作品《夏凉》参加“百家金陵中国画展”。
2010年，作品《室内》等二幅先后被江苏省美术馆收藏。
参加“两岸艺术家大运河写生活动”，和台湾艺术家沿大运河写生、考察，并举办展览。
2011年，参加江苏省文化厅主办的两岸艺术家写生活动，赴台湾参观写生，并在台湾举办画展。
参加“省重大主题美术创作精品工程”，作品《丹顶鹤的故事》入选。
出版《石晓画集》
2012年，参加江苏省国画院主办的学术系列活动之“人物画作品巡回展”，并被南京师范大学聘为客座教授。
参加“傅抱石奖江苏中国画作品展”。
2013年，作品《秋风》参加由文化部、中国美术家协会主办的“全国第十届艺术节作品展”；
作品《水墨组画》参加由中国人民大学中国画名家创作室主办的“新传统中国画作品巡回展”，分别在国家画院、中国人民大学、陕西省博物馆、合肥美术馆、郑州美术馆等地展出，并出版《石晓画集》；
