曹传真，1952年生，山东青岛人。现为中国美术家协会会员、中国美术院院士、副院长，中华诗词学会会员、中国民族博物馆客座研究员、中国长城画院理事等。先后就读于青岛市教育学院美术系、中央美院中国画系硕士研究生班。作品曾参加中华杯·中国画大奖赛、新时代中国画作品展、2001年全国中国画作品展、西部辉煌全国中国画提名展、同里——保护世界环境国际中国画作品展、第四届当代中国山水画展、二十一世纪首届中国书画艺术精晶大展、2003年全国中国画画家提名展并获奖。另多幅作品参加中国美术家协会第十六次新人作品展、2002年全国中国画作品展、首届北京国际美术双年展序列展、水墨心象——当代中国画名家学术邀请展、第十届全国美术作品展、当代中国画名家作品邀请展、2005年中国画实力派画家香港邀请展等。2003年12月由人民美术出版社出版《中国当代国画家曹传真中国画集———西部·阳光》八开精装本画集。《美术》、《荣宝斋》、《艺术界》、《国画家》等专业刊物作了专题刊载。
现任文化部中国文化传媒集团中国美术院副院长、中华文化发展促进会理事、中国美术家协会会员、中华诗词学会会员。就读于中央美术学院中国画系硕士研究生班后创作百米巨幅画作《西部·阳光》，2004年由中国美术家协会主办在北京中国美术馆展出。《美术》杂志主办由权威专家组成的学术研讨会，对《西部阳光》的社会价值和艺术价值给予充分的认证和深入的研究并作专题刊载发表。
被评为《辉煌2008·纪念改革开放三十周年当代最具学术价值与收藏价值潜力的中国金鼎十二家》。出版《共和国六十位国画大家精品集·曹传真》。《世纪经典·曹传真中国画集》，《美术中国·曹传真专辑》《西部·阳光百米系列——曹传真中国画集》等。作品为国家机关，国务院宾馆，人民大会堂，中国国家博物馆，山东省美术馆等机构及收藏家收藏。
作品在文化部和中国美术家协会举办的全国大型画展中获奖十余次。
