应建宇，1965年生于北京，现任中国文化艺术发展促进会副秘书长；中国现代书画家网专家委员会理事；中国国画家协会常务理事；原全国书画等级考核委员会考办副主任。少年时在北京荣宝斋学画，师从荣宝斋画家徐新友、米景阳，中学时代拜著名花鸟画架田雨霖先生为师，成为田雨霖先生的入室弟子，现主攻梅花，以画梅最为擅长。《北京名家》杂志、《中华美术家》杂志、《美术报》、《淄博日报》等多家媒体给予发表和专题报道。
