吴彰桦，女，江苏省苏州市人，中学时期曾就读于苏州振华女中，1954年毕业于江苏华东艺专（后为南京艺术学院）美术系，中国科学院植物研究所高级工程师。曾任中国植物学会科学画专业委员会副主任、中国美术家协会和北京科普创作协会会员。
吴彰桦40多年来一直从事植物科学画工作。绘画作品在国际和国内展览中多次获奖并被收藏。
吴彰桦承担了《中国植物志》、《中国高等植物图鉴》、《西藏植物志》、《中国野菜图谱》等专著的大量绘图工作，自1993年起享受政府特殊津贴。
吴彰桦对待工作认真、严谨，不顾体弱多病，坚持爬山涉水深入偏远地区，不畏寒暑烈日，一丝不苟地在现场绘制各种珍稀植物的图像，积累了大量成果。
吴彰桦长期从事植物科学绘画工作，主要作品：《川木莲》、《大叶石斑木》、《香水月季》在中国植物科学画展中获优秀作品奖；《金花茶》、《罗希万带兰》、《牡丹图》参加南非约翰内斯堡国际植物艺术画展并由该国收藏；《浙江楠》、《鹿角杜鹃》参加澳大利亚悉尼第13届国际植物学会中国植物科学画展；《川木莲》、《浙江楠》参加美国密苏里植物园中国植物科学画展；《旱金莲》、《木兰杜鹃》、《亮叶杜鹃》、《柿》等作品，先后多次参加国际和国内展览。发表著作中参加绘图有《中国高等植物图鉴》、《西藏植物志》获国家自然科学1等奖；《中国植物志》36、37、38卷获国家自然科学2等奖；《中国植物志》14、15、67（2）、68卷获国家自然科学3等奖；《中国植物志》7、27、28、73、74、75、76卷册先后获中科院科技进步l、2．3等奖；《中国野菜图谱》获中国人民解放军科技进步2等奖。享受政府特殊津贴。其传略入编了《中国当代艺术界名人录》、《世界文化名人辞海》、《中国专家大辞典》、《中华翰墨名家作品博览》、《中国世纪专家》等辞书。
获奖及参展作品还有《带叶兜兰》、《玉兰》等。
吴彰桦女士因心脏病救治无效，于2008年4月29日上午5时去世，终年75岁。
