荣子林，1938年出生。长期从事中国画创作。后从师潘絜絮兹先生二十余年，更热衷于中国工笔画艺术事业．人物、花鸟、山水、工笔写意作品皆独具意趣．崇尚精品艺术。作品曾入选第七届、”第八届全国美术作品展”．以及由中国美术家协会主办的第一、第二、第三、第四、第五届“中国工笔画大展”、“中国工笔山水画展”和”迎新世纪中国工笔画展”等重要的全国性美术作品展览：有的作品曾获奖或被国家收藏：也有不少作品参加港、台地区及国际展出．并入选多种大型画集。现为中国美术家协会会员、北京王笔重彩画会副会长、中国工笔画学会副秘书长
