刘俊元，1942年，生于辽宁省锦县，满族，毕业于鲁迅美术学院。中国美术家协会会员。一级画家。沈阳军区艺术委员会委员。中国同泽书画院理事。沈阳博雅书画院副院长沈阳中山书画会副会长。在长期的艺术实践中不断探索传统技法和大胆创新中抒发自我情怀。尤其擅长水墨人物。在创作中大胆的把西方画的技法柔和进传统的笔情墨韵中，运用黑白色块的强烈对比加大作品的力度，作品厚重﹑朴实，乡土气息浓郁。在历届展出中受到美术界以及广大观众的好评。多幅作品在新加坡﹑马来西亚等国家展出。部分作品被博物馆﹑纪念馆和国际团体以及个人收藏。传略收入《中国当代书画名人大辞典》﹑《中国当代艺术界名人录》等十几部辞书。

1992年《富贵吉祥》获全军知识大奖赛二等奖。
2001年《志在千里》入选第五届全国体育美展。
