张任荣，男。一九七三年出生，江苏泰州人。其九岁学画，南京艺术学院毕业。国家二级美术师。现为中国美术家协会会员，江苏省美术家协会、江苏省花鸟画研究会、江苏省徐悲鸿研究会、江苏省青年书法家协会会员，江苏省文联书画研究中心研究员，泰州市美协理事。
三十多年来，张任荣努力探索中国工笔画的创作观念、语言形式、色彩技法等，二零一一年进入中国现代工笔画院进修。二零一二年，作品《幽居》入选由中国美术家协会主办的吴冠中艺术馆开馆暨全国中国画作品展；同年七月，回泰举办“缘情成象·张任荣工笔花鸟画作品展”。展出五十余幅近作，技法娴熟，画面既有传统工笔画的严谨线条，也有现代工笔画的许多新元素，具视觉冲击力；色彩融合西画的表现手法，过渡自然，赋于受众更多的想像空间；十月，张任荣作品《舞动的春》再次入选中国美协主办的“画说武当”全国中国画作品展。二零一三年五月二十一日，张任荣作品《老屋的记忆》获“相聚宜兴”全国工笔画作品优秀奖（最高奖），将于六月二十八日在吴冠中艺术馆参加由中国美协等主办的“‘相聚宜兴’全国工笔画作品展”。
二零一四年三月二十五日，中国美术家协会主办的第四届全国中国画线描艺术展复评结果揭晓，张任荣的《农闲乐事》被评为优秀作品（最高奖）。至此，张任荣具备了申请中国美协会员的条件。[5]二零一六年元月二十五日，中国美术家协会公布的二零一五年会员名单显示，张任荣已正式成为中国美协会员。
