唐玉润，字秋山，1924年生于古都咸阳，后移居郑州商城，现为中国书法家协会会员，中国老年书法家协会理事，河南美学学会理事，并兼任郑州大学、山东大学、郑州教育学院教授等职。其书画作品曾在中国美术馆及日本、美国、新加坡等地展出，受到好评，是享誉国内外的著名书画家。
早年曾习工笔，50年代又师承八大山人、任伯年、吴昌硕、陈半丁、齐白石等大家，画风为之一新。先生的花鸟画以牡丹著称，素有“唐牡丹”之誉。
成就
1994年，唐老的画展在北京中国美术馆举办，众赞如潮，张爱萍、谷牧、方毅、贺敬之等都亲往参观并给予很高评价，《人民日报》、《中国青年报》、《北京晚报》和中央电视台都作了热情洋溢的报道；《人民画报》、《当代中国》等报刊多有刊载；山东、江苏、河南及中央电视台《东方之子》等都有专题报道其书画艺术成就；作品收录于《天安门珍藏书画集》、《中南海珍藏书画集》等大型画册，著名作家姚雪垠欣然题词曰“书画传世”。近年，唐老的新作《牡丹》又在中国美协、中国书协主办的“国际中国画展暨大赛”中展出并收入《二十世纪中华画苑缀英》。
玉润先生，字秋山，号德君、冰清馆主、雪景山人。1924年生，祖籍陕西咸阳。其父为旧时商人，常往来于沪、豫、陕间，家业颇为兴隆，生意也还繁盛。因当时郑州处通衢要冲，故居郑州最久。其父能诗文，喜书画，常与文人骚客流连，古玩字画收藏甚丰。先生得益于这样丰厚的文艺环境，幼年就迷恋各种法书，从跃跃欲试到笔冢墨池，少年就表现出一种常人少有的执着与聪慧。其父见他如此痴迷喜爱，也就因势利导，为他创造各种条件学习。
先生幼时先是进私塾念了几年旧书，随后又进新式学堂，接受新式教育。完成中学教育。在此阶段，进学而外，在他父亲的支持与教诲下，凭着一股子兴趣与激情，先生如饥似渴地观览、临摹我国古代传统的书画作品。这是他最初在书画艺术道路上的摸索。
先生对于书法的摸索入手，一是受时代之风，二可能是性格使然。民国年间，书坛承继晚清余绪，习碑者依然众多。在那样的大气候下，再加之先生本性所爱，因之对于书法的起步，是从颜真卿开始的。这种颜体的痕迹，贯穿了他整个书法的基调，及至后来他即使再旁收并蓄，花开百家，但颜氏的风骨却一直如影相随。据先生自己常言，他对颜体勤力最久，其中〈颜家庙碑〉、〈中兴颂〉、〈麻姑仙坛记〉等用心最深。并且先生习书始，基本上就是以站立悬腕的姿势，练拳头大小的大字。这种习字方式，也间接地影响了他此后的书法风格，即先生善作大字。他自己也曾说过，“我的字宜大不宜小，越大越好看。”
少年的先生除了勤课颜字，也逐渐对于绘画进行尝试。彼时并无“术业专攻”，基本上举凡绘画常见题材，都成为他临摹学习的对象。人物、山水、花鸟并举，遥想当年先生少年远志，意气风发，真可谓初生牛犊。惜我并未睹其彼时作品，不能揣测。但是大约十年前，即先生七十岁左右时，他曾经向我展示过他的一幅山水画，大约比四尺整张略窄一些，画得是雪景，基本上是传统笔墨，但气势非凡，笔精墨妙。我还记得先生对我说，那是他年轻时的作品，当时因为山水雪景画得好，时人送与“雪景山人”的雅号。由此可以想见先生少年时涉猎之广，用心之深。
1942年，先生考取鲁山艺术学校，开始接受学堂式的艺术教育。受到当时学校老师王耀光先生的指导，先生对艺术的领悟逐渐加深。从前的盲目摸索之路此时有了较为清晰的脉络。他开始在广博的基础上，选择自己喜爱的画家作品专一临摹。“扬州八怪”的李鱓与华喦成为他习学的主要对象。李鱓与华喦基本上是小写意花鸟，先生从他们入手，也基本奠定了他此后绘画风格的走向。今天看他的许多作品，约略还能看出李复堂的味道。

鲁山归来，先生就做了小学的美术教员。当时正值抗战胜利后，人民欢欣鼓舞，国家亦百废待兴。为庆祝抗战的胜利，亦为展示新生活的开始，先生在父亲的资助下，举办了自己平生的第一次展览。地点是在当时的郑州老街——德化街的“现代照相社”，在该照相社即将开业之前，展出了先生的书画作品。此展可谓是“一鸣惊人”，人们看到年仅二十余岁的先生，其作品竟然是如此的不凡，纷纷称奇赞赏。尤其得到内行人的青目。于是褒奖之誉纷踏而至。从此，先生之名在郑州不胫而走。不久，就有人请先生写匾“晋泰国药号”，此乃先生生平第一匾，时年二十三岁。此后，先生写匾达半个世纪之久，毫不夸张地说，普通的郑州百姓对于“唐玉润”三字的认知，就是从他所书写的遍地皆是的匾额开始的。解放前后，河南民间曾有流传三地写匾名家：开封“陈玉璋”、郑州“唐玉润”、洛阳“李振九”。
不久，新中国建立，先生怀着满腔的热情投入到祖国的建设中。从建国到改革开放前，这三十年的时间，政治运动频繁，先生也与当时许多知识分子一样，受到各种冲击。先生曾告诉我，文革期间，红卫兵抄家，家中的字画全部被卡车运走，下落不明。先生说，若是焚烧了，则非常令人痛心，因为被抄走的字画不仅有他自己的作品，还有不少是他多年来收藏的历代名字、名画。这其中有像蓝瑛等明清名家作品，甚至还有一张大幅宋画，非常珍贵。先生说，若没有焚毁，流传于民间，总算是于国家有益。这也可能是善意的痴心吧！
尽管外界政治风云变幻莫测，先生对于艺术的追求却矢志不渝。这期间，在书法上，除了坚持颜体的临摹学习外，他开始溯源而上，对魏碑、汉隶、秦篆下功夫。魏碑中，先生对《郑文公碑》、《始平公造像记》、《张黑女墓志》用功最深。魏碑基本上也属于楷体，但这种字体有别于晋楷、唐楷。在书写时，点划较峻利，转折以侧锋取势，形成内圆外方、撇捺重顿的特点。先生在领悟魏碑运笔、内涵后，加入自己的认知，逐渐形成自己的魏碑风格。他在书写匾额时，大多数是用颜体楷书，但偶尔也用魏碑形式，尝给人耳目一新的感觉。对于隶书，先生临《张迁》最久。篆书也曾涉猎。当然，除了以上主要几种法书外，他也旁征博收，凡有益于他进步的，或他感兴趣的，都会采撷一二。
近人中，先生对于何绍基推崇倍至，非常喜欢何的书法。对于何氏书法的临摹学习，几乎贯穿于先生的整个书法生涯。无论年轻、中年甚至现在，在先生身边的学生都能看到他对何氏书法的反复阅读、临摹与揣测。就是在这种纵横千古、上下求索的努力中，最终形成具有“唐氏”风格的书法样式。以我目之，先生的书法风格主要有三：一是他的匾额书体。这种风格基本上是在颜体的基础上蔓延开来，多年来不断融会贯通，逐渐演变成他独自的风格特征。譬如他比颜体更加强调字划的顿笔、转折，更加强调在颜体刚直方正的笔触中注入柔性的笔划，形成一种刚柔相济、柔中见刚、曲中见直的效果。著名书法家费新我、沙曼翁来郑看到先生书写的“紫金山百货大楼”等匾额，曾赞叹说，我们南方人的字相对比较秀韵，像唐先生这样气势恢弘、大气磅礴的书法匾额不是很多见，写得非常好。第二种风格，是他在颜体、魏碑、汉隶、何氏等各种风格的基础上，多年浸润思考，反复提炼、去芜存精，形成的一种略似何氏又有别于何氏的风格。特点是，喜用颤笔，横拖竖抹、大小无稽，乱中有序，给人一种天真烂漫、不可捉摸之感。在我看来，这种风格最足以代表先生自己的独特创造。第三种风格是先生的行、草书。时人或以为他只擅长楷、魏，是只知其一。其实，先生对于传统的各种书体，都曾经尝试、阅读并临摹，只是后来由博到精，比较专注楷体而已。在我刚刚学习书法的时候，亦是临摹先生的字。先生却对我说，“法乎其上，仅得其中，法乎其中，仅得其下。”建议我学《兰亭》。他的行、草书，基本是传统的路子，功力深厚，书卷气十足。这一风格，先生主要是以继承为主。
书法更多的时候是一种随心快意的感情抒发，炉火纯青之后，往往是一种随心所欲的不逾规。笼统说来，先生形成的“唐体”主要以楷、魏为骨，何氏精髓为意趣的一种式样，是真正的一种自我创造。能够创新，并得到大众的认可，就足以代表先生书法的高度。著名书法家李铎在洛阳与先生相遇，看到先生的字，当面赞叹说：我的字不如唐先生的好！
先生在矢志书法的同时，绘画也取得长足的进展。除了坚持学习李鱓与华喦之外，他几乎遍临明清大家的作品。明清以来，中国花鸟画逐渐由写实走向写意，是我国写意花鸟画大发展的阶段。先生对于沈周、林良、徐渭、陈淳、八大、八怪诸家、恽南田及近现代的赵之谦、任颐、吴昌硕等人无一不取。各种题材内容都加以探索、学习。其中，他对恽南田、李鱓、华喦用心最深。恽南田为清初大家，在历史上花鸟画成就很高。恽氏宗法五代、北宋间的徐崇嗣的没骨法，又跟随时代风尚，形成自己柔美秀雅的没骨花卉。先生学习恽氏，也继承了他的没骨画法，但与恽氏所区别的，是他的作品常以气势为胜，在清雅中显见恢弘。与他习书一样，先生喜做大画，尽管大画更难为，但在先生笔下，大画比小画更显气魄。除了取法恽南田的没骨，先生对华新罗的兼工带写的小写意也非常喜爱，对新罗作品也是勤力日久。他亦爱李复堂的牡丹，李氏牡丹画法也对日后先生牡丹风格的形成具有重要的影响作用。
在继承传统的基础上，先生形成了自己绘画的独特风格：即色彩清新典雅，线条老辣劲道，传统功力深厚，兼工带写的小写意花鸟画。
现在人们都知道先生画牡丹有名，实际上对于各种花卉，先生几乎都曾涉及，而且技艺都很高超。关于先生为何画牡丹多，画牡丹最为人所知呢？这里有一个历史缘故。文革开始后，许多画家不敢公开画画了，尤其是一些花花草草，被认为具有“资产阶级情调”，这可难住了先生，绘画就是他的生命，如果不能画画，还何以为生呢？好在当时江青说，“可以画牡丹”，先生只得多画牡丹，虽弄巧成拙，但牡丹花因先生更美，先生亦因牡丹更加名声远播，真是人花交相辉映。
先生就在政治的风雨飘摇中锲而不舍，坚持着自己的理想与信念，不断的进步着。

1978年，改革开放，中国一下子焕发出新的生机。先生的艺术也迎来了她的春天。这一阶段，先生的艺术已经成熟，功力已至炉火纯青，人也开始步入花甲、古稀之年，可谓人书俱老。对于中国画家、书家而言，这是人生中最宝贵的时间。
80年代及90年代，国家经济处于恢复与逐渐发展过程中，河南各地及省会郑州开始了新一轮建筑时期。这一时期，先生迎来了他书写匾额的第二个高潮。著名水彩画画家李剑晨曾为先生画集做序云：“…余返河南故乡，见省城郑州满街多是玉润所题匾额，字体古朴浑厚，气势非凡，给余留下深刻印象。…”是非常中肯的记述。我在1987至1996年十年间曾跟随先生生活，目睹并帮助他书写匾额，用“不计其数”真得一点儿都不夸张。当时，除了为郑州各大小商店写匾，河南各地来求写匾额的也络绎不绝。先生书写极其认真，为了确保放大后的字体不走样，他总是自己把原字放大，然后亲自勾勒，以便修改矫正。我当时参与的就是把原字放大的过程。尽管这是一件比较琐碎甚至费力的事情，但是先生总是坚持去做，为了追求放大后的字体尽善尽美。他对待艺术非常的认真与勤奋。我记得有时晚间偶尔醒来，时间已是三更而后，还能看到先生在勾勒、修改放大后的字。他的这种勤奋精神对我影响至深。
随着人们生活水平的改善与提高，越来越多的人开始向先生求字求画。普通百姓喜爱牡丹的雍容富贵，以此来寄托对美好生活的向往。而先生经过文革十年对牡丹一科的深入研究，探索出了他独特的牡丹绘画风格。再加之人们的需求，一时“洛阳纸贵”，先生遂有“唐牡丹”之誉。在郑州，在河南，先生的匾额与牡丹，几乎是家喻户晓、妇孺皆知。他的牡丹，取法李复堂，参校陈半丁、王雪涛，独辟蹊径，气势雍容，深厚老辣，大俗大雅，深受广大人民的喜爱。前贤画牡丹，多以胭脂作花，花青为叶，色泽清淡，以显高雅。先生却突破之，以红色中加入白色，花朵显得亮丽夺目，叶子的色泽也掺入藤黄、墨汁，这样经过调和之后的颜色既显活泼又不失厚重，恰如其分地展现了牡丹国色天香的特质。其中，最令人拍案叫绝的，也是他人很难模仿的，是先生对牡丹枝干龙飞凤舞的穿插经营，与叶子筋络的勾勒。那是他多年书法功力、线条力度在绘画中的展现，先生本身的艺术实践再次有力得证明了我国传统书画中“书画同源”的理论。元赵孟頫曾有名诗曰“石如飞白木如籀，写竹还与八法通。若也有人能会此，方知书画本来同。”由此，他的牡丹以其鲜明的“唐氏风格”既得到同行的钦佩与赞叹，亦受到普通百姓的喜爱。在中原，甚至被人誉为“牡丹王”。
随着先生人书俱老、艺术亦臻极境，时望愈隆，各种社会名誉也纷纷而至，全国不少地方邀请先生前去举办展览。先生在山东、南京、新疆、北京及韩国、日本、新西兰等国内外多次举办展览。其中，1994年春夏之交，先生在北京中国美术馆举办展览，众赞如潮。当时我也跟随至京，亲眼目睹盛况。当时河南省政府驻北京办事处的工作人员，听说先生进京展览，亲自前往先生暂居的宾馆，看望先生。他们说，先生是我们河南德高望重的著名书画家，进京展览，也是我们河南中原人民的骄傲，我们理当尽力而为。他们亲自出面邀请中央领导人张爱萍、谷牧、方毅、贺敬之等同志前往观览，给予了极大的支持与帮助。当时前往观展的还有张世简、娄师白、秦岭云、齐良迟、阿老等著名画家，他们对于先生的书画艺术交口称赞，感叹不已。张世简先生说：“我没有想到河南还有这么好的画家，唐先生您应该早到北京来，早来的话，早红起来了。”其称许如此。
著名作家姚雪垠看到先生的书画，大为称赏，题词曰“书画传世”。
先生不仅是一位杰出的人民艺术家，他还是一位品行高尚的人民教育家。他先是做了几年小学美术教员，后转入郑州第十八中学做美术教员，至其退休。在我看来，他的一生，一半献给了他所热爱的艺术事业，另一半，献给了我国的艺术教育事业。先生的教育方式，在现代社会看来，是有些异于常规教育的。他的学生，一是来源于他所在的学校班级，曾在课堂听先生讲过课的，这是一小部分，另一来源则是社会各个阶层，这是一大部分。我认为他实际上是继承了传统的私塾教育方式，而且把孔夫子的“有教无类”的理念推广放大，体现出一种宽广博大、平等仁爱的崇高精神。与私塾教育或私人讲学唯一不同的，是先生从不收取分文，非但不纳一金，相反的，他甚至还无偿资助一些暂时处于窘迫的青年学子。学生随时可以来家学习，笔墨纸砚也尽其所用，甚至有些学生吃住在先生家，也是常事。吴敬梓先生在《儒林外史》中写杜少卿之平居豪举，先生之行事为人亦在此例！
对于身体有障碍的学生，先生更是给予最大的帮助与关怀。在我跟随他生活的十年间，我时刻都能体会到先生对弱者的同情与悲悯。他对于一切生命的呵护与关怀给予我极深的印象。我记得某次我们俩人外出吃饭。途中先生突然驻足，低头俯视地面。我看过去，发现是一个不知名的小飞物，约蝴蝶大小，翅膀不停的来回拍打，看得出，它是在做生命的最后挣扎。先生注视良久，缓缓说道：“你看，所有的生命为了生存都非常的不容易，要善待一切生命。”我常想，先生之所以能够倾其所有地帮助别人，是源于他悲天悯人的天性。
先生课徒，解放前就开始了，直至现在，依然不断有新人进门，所以，他的学生中既有皤然老翁，与先生年龄相仿者，亦有龆龀小儿，天真烂漫。他的学生，全国各地、各行各业都有，甚至异国他乡。其中大多数分布于河南。除此而外，还有不少喜爱中国艺术的外国人，也慕名而来，跟随先生学习中国书画。
先生对于学生，真是诲人不倦，倾其所知，倾其所藏，帮助学生提高艺术水平。在他的培育下，历年来许多学生各有所成，诸如杨国锋小学时就获得第一届国际书画大赛的银质奖章，单元新在第二届中也获得奖项，外孙崔向前获得青少年国际书画大赛一等奖等。
先生的这些学生，多数以模仿他的字画入手，有的甚至模仿的惟妙惟肖，并逐渐小有名气于郑州。比如学先生字的董治国、王稼祥，他们模仿先生楷书写的匾额在郑州也时有所见。还有许多学先生画牡丹的，也都纷纷粉墨登场，不胜枚举。这其中，学先生而有所突破并形成自己风格的，有先生的大公子唐清、二公子唐海、孙子唐小山、学生康华锋、苏飞、宋惠君等人。唐海君，禀赋家学而又突破父亲的藩篱，自成一格。他尝游学于京城，独自在中国美术馆、容宝斋等地举办个展，已经名扬于京。他最擅长画狐，妙笔生花，为狐写生，勘称一绝。康华锋画公鸡抑扬顿挫，苏飞、宋惠君不仅攻花鸟，又精山水等等，不一而足。
明清以来，中国画坛上，常有画派之谓，比如以文征明为首的吴门画派，以董其昌为首的华亭派，还有波臣派、娄东派、虞山派、常州派、新安派、海派、岭南派等等，流脉纷呈，画家众多。一个画派的形成，一般都有这样几个共通点：一是具有相同或相近的绘画主张；二是在艺术上有一引领者或开创者，即开派人物，三是在这个引领者周围有一批画风相似的画家群。以此目之先生及其周围的从学者，民间遂有“唐派”之谓。

在广袤的中原大地，先生生于斯，长于斯，今岁已至耄耋之年。悠悠岁月，八十载风云流转，先生之艺却如长青树一般，历经风雨却岿然不动，其艺术魅力与人格力量流传在河南民间，长盛不衰。我想，生命的价值在先生身上得以完美的体现：他向社会所贡献的，远远大于向社会索取的，正是这种生命价值推动着我们人类社会在向前进步。这样的人也将受到人民永远的尊敬与爱戴。
