郑世武，出生于浙江湖洲，早年曾在浙江美术学院攻读过美术理论和素描西画，上世纪六十年代曾出版过连环画《黄继光》和宣传画等。在画家几十年的艺术追求中，受到父亲书画艺术的熏陶，并得到过著名画家王个移、陈莲涛等前辈大师的指教。他在油画中造诣也很深厚，在文革后期与陈逸飞共事于油画创作。他勤奋学艺，潜心精研，在借鉴各种绘画风格的基础上，融会贯通形成自身的海派风格和特点。

Zheng Shiwu, born in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, studied art theory and sketch Western painting in Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in his early years. In the 1960s, he published the comic book Huang Jiguang and propaganda painting. In the artist's decades of artistic pursuit, he was influenced by his father's painting and calligraphy art, and was instructed by famous painters such as Wang Qiqian and Chen liantao. He also has a profound knowledge in oil painting, and worked with Chen Yifei in oil painting creation in the late period of the cultural revolution. He is diligent in learning art and devoted to intensive research. On the basis of drawing on various painting styles, he has formed his own Shanghai style and characteristics.
He is now vice chairman of the Chinese painting and calligraphy society, director of the Chinese painting and Calligraphy Association, first-class artist and first-class calligrapher, honorary president of Dezhou state art painting and Calligraphy Academy and honorary president of Lanting painting and Calligraphy Academy.
