徐永生，山东莱西市人。擅长中国画、连环画。1978年入伍，1981年退役到山东省艺术馆工作。1983年入山东艺术学院美术系深造，1990年毕业于山东师范大学，现为中国美术家协会会员，山东青年美术家协会副主席兼秘书长，国家一级美术师，山东省艺术馆专业画家。其绘画作品曾获全国首届少儿读物一等奖，全国冰心图书大奖，全国第八届“群星奖”优秀奖，“精品工程”入选奖，首届全国“中国画油画大展”铜奖，作品先后入选第七、八、九届全国美术展览和第四届全国体育美展，在全国十几家出版社出版了多部画册和连环画套书。2000年受法国里萨艺术学院之邀，作为文化使者，随团赴法国、德国、意大利、奥地利、比利时、荷兰等国家进行艺术交流和学术考察。多件作品被国内、外收藏家收藏。现已出版专著《教你一招——画古装人物》、《怎样画古装人物》、《古装仕女线描集》、《徐永生画集》。作品《屈原》入选第八届全国美展；《春园无处不飞花》入选第四届全国体育美展；《唐人诗意》、《唱支山歌》(合作)入选第九届全国美展。参与绘制《史记》、《三国演义》、《吕氏春秋》等大型套书。
2004年为国家邮政局设计了邮票《柳毅传书》。2006年赴印度、日本等国采风。“中国教育电视台”“山东卫视台时代美术”“湖南卫视台”“山东生活台”先后播出过专题介绍。
