林凡，字翊宇。湖南益阳人。擅工笔绘画亦擅美术评论、诗词及书法。大学学历。1949年参加解放军。先后在湖南军区、中南军区、总政治部、山西省文化系和解放军艺术学院工作。历任中南军区政治部和总政治部美术编辑、记者，山西晋剧院舞美设计师，解放军艺术学院教师、研究员，中国国际文化传播中心副理事长，中国工笔画学会常务副会长，艺术研究员、南开大学教授。现为中国美术家协会会员。中国书法家协会会员。东方美术交流协会理事。曾任全军书法比赛评委会委员兼秘书长。作品《微雨引飞泉》获全国工笔画展一等奖，《谷音》获全国工笔山水画一等奖。《张骞回京》、《春喧》、《送饭》为中国美术馆等收藏。并多次在国内外举办个人画展。为《文艺赏析大观》主要撰稿人之一。
主要贡献：1949年参军后在湘、粤、晋、京等地部队任记者，创作员、艺术研究员等职。作画三千余幅，发表千余幅。创作书法近万幅，创作诗文八十余万字。曾百余次参加省市、全国和国际重要美展并多次获奖，其中全国性一等奖三次，美国颁发的中美文化交流特别奖一次。1987年创建当代工笔画学会，任常务副会长，对中国工笔画推进甚力。曾在台北、日本东京、名古屋等七城市、国内的北京、深圳、香港、济南、上海和美国旧金山等十余大城市举办个展和巡回个展。有精品50余件被天安门、中南海紫光阁、中央军委新办公大楼、中国美术馆、历史博物馆、德国巴登巴登艺术博物馆、墨西哥等多国大使馆、美国IBM公司、香港新鸿基集团等单位和个人收藏。出版出版有《林凡画集》、《林凡书画集》、《林凡风景画选》、《林凡艺术》、《林凡现代山水画》、《军旅画家十人集——林凡卷》、《人与梅花一样清》等大型画集和个人专著11种。主编巨型文献《中国历代僧诗全集》及多种大画册。2005年负责主编出版大型美术杂志《丹青》。1996、1998年被美国加州大学、天津南开大学聘为兼职教授。个人专业辞条被中外40多种名人传记、辞典、年鉴收录。

Lin fan, Yiyu. From Yiyang, Hunan. Good at fine brushwork, art review, poetry and calligraphy. University degree. He joined the PLA in 1949. He has successively worked in Hunan Military Region, Central South military region, General Political Department, Culture Department of Shanxi Province and Art College of the PLA. He has successively served as the art editor and journalist of the political department and the General Political Department of the Central South military region, the dancing designer of Shanxi Jin opera academy, the teacher and researcher of the Art College of the PLA, the vice president of China International Cultural Communication Center, the executive vice president of China fine brushwork painting society, the art researcher and professor of Nankai University. He is now a member of China Artists Association. Member of Chinese Calligrapher Association. Director of Oriental Art Exchange Association. He was a member of the jury and Secretary General of the calligraphy competition of the whole army. His work "drizzle leads to flying spring" won the first prize of national fine brushwork exhibition, and "Guyin" won the first prize of national fine brushwork landscape painting. Zhang Qian's return to Beijing, the sound of spring and sending rice are collected by China Art Museum. He has also held many solo exhibitions at home and abroad. He is one of the main contributors of the Grand View of literary appreciation.

Main contributions: after joining the army in 1949, he served as a journalist, creator and art researcher in Hunan, Guangdong, Shanxi, Beijing and other places. More than 3000 paintings have been made and more than 1000 have been published. Nearly 10000 pieces of calligraphy and more than 800000 words of poetry were created. He has participated in more than 100 provincial, national and international important art exhibitions and won many awards, including three national first prizes and one special prize for cultural exchange between China and the United States issued by the United States. In 1987, he founded the contemporary fine brushwork society and served as the executive vice president, which greatly promoted the development of Chinese fine brushwork. He has held solo exhibitions and tour solo exhibitions in seven cities, including Taipei, Tokyo, Nagoya, and more than ten major cities in China, including Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Jinan, Shanghai and San Francisco. There are more than 50 excellent works collected by Tiananmen, Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai, new office building of the Central Military Commission, China Art Museum, history museum, Baden Baden Art Museum of Germany, embassies of Mexico and other countries, IBM of the United States, Hong Kong Sun Hung Kai Group and other units and individuals. He has published 11 kinds of large-scale paintings and personal monographs, including Lin Fan's collection of paintings, Lin Fan's collection of calligraphy and paintings, Lin Fan's selection of landscape paintings, Lin Fan's art, Lin Fan's modern landscape painting, the collection of ten military painters - Lin Fan volume, and the same Qing Dynasty as plum blossom. He is the editor in chief of the huge literature "the complete works of Chinese monk poems of all ages" and a variety of big picture albums. In 2005, he was in charge of editing and publishing the large art magazine "painting". In 1996 and 1998, he was employed as a part-time professor by the University of California and Nankai University of Tianjin.
