薛佛影（1905～1988）原名光照。江苏无锡人，久寓上海。出身于书香门弟，祖父云楣擅诗文，父叔衡为著名中医。幼受家训，能诗文，懂医道，苦读之余，勤攻篆刻。民国14年（1925）来沪，历职大德堂、天伦丝厂。民国20年，协助工蕴章创办正风文学院，任院务主任，与胡朴安、胡怀琛、吕思勉、钱基博等相交，学识大进；又得吴湖帆、张在园等名师指导，技艺愈精。久寓蒲柏路（今太仓路）146号。对古代陶器、甲骨、钟鼎、铜镜、玉石、砖瓦之刻纹，悉心钻研，精心摹练，并及宗教艺术、民族形式等，渐融会于象牙细刻之中，并进展至水晶、翡翠、白玉。善用圆刀，融指觉、视觉、心灵感觉为一，雕物转折灵活，线条流畅，名传中外。解放后，为上海工艺美术研究所雕刻工艺师，国家文化部授予特级工艺美术大师。
