沈威峰，1965年出生于江苏扬州，现任南京书画院花鸟画研究所所长，中国美术家协会会员，十届全国青联委员，苏州画院名誉院长，苏州大学、扬州大学客座教授，四川美术学院中国画系客座教授。
代表作：《映日荷花别样红》悬挂于人民大会堂，《荷之韵》悬挂于中共中央组织部部长会议室，《乾坤清气》悬挂于中共中央党校校委会议室，《荷风送香气》悬挂于钓鱼台国宾馆，《十里荷香》悬挂于上海东郊宾馆会见厅，《荷颂清风》悬挂于国家审计署党组会议室，《荷塘清韵》悬挂于上海浦东干部学院贵宾厅。
在沈威峰的写意花鸟画创作中，荷花占了很大的篇章。荷花又称莲花、水芙蓉，其高洁、清雅的风韵久为国人所喜爱，常以之比拟高尚的人品。宋人周敦颐《爱莲说》中有句云："出淤泥而不染，濯清涟而不妖"。
沈威峰的荷花画，超越了纯象征的程式格调，而将荷花的人文品格置于朴实的自然生态之中。如《梦中清荷》、《荷塘清风》、《香色空绝世》等，在全景式构图中，但见水天一色，虽满幅花与叶相随，却不觉其壅塞，在色墨洇间见出澄明空灵之气，其"出淤泥而不染"的品质在此彰显，并传达出丰富而畅达的情愫和深刻的人生感悟，这缘于他对自然的挚爱和对艺术生命的热爱，并使观者从中得到人生的启迪和艺术的美感。
他的画，总是有一种湿漉漉的十分滋润的气息。他画出了池荷的水气，画出了春天饱含在空气中的湿润，画出了水对花、鸟、虫、鱼的滋养。水，从鱼的嬉戏中体现出来，从肥重透明的荷叶上体现出来，从丰硕透亮的果实快要绷破了的肥胖中体现出来，从弥漫在荷塘里氤氲的雾霭中显示出来。他的画，有一种强烈的清新，一种能使你的鼻息呼吸到水分的清新。这种清新，足以让现代人焦燥的火气得到宁息，使劳作的烦躁得到清理和洗涤。这是真正的美，一种能够使人的生命状态得到更好地调适的来自精神世界的美。
特别是北京大学季羡林教授题字的巨幅荷花，娇艳饱满、清新自然，用色、用光的透视强烈，具有自己的鲜明风格，创造了荷花创作的新高度，引起美术界人士的广泛关注和积极赞誉。文化部部长孙家正亲为他的画题词"形在似像非像处，意含似无似有间"。
作品风格：沈威峰的荷花超越了写实的层次，注重在精神的层面上塑造荷花的形象，赋予了人格化的魅力，焕然进入了一个新境界，不能否认沈威峰的荷花作品具有了文化内涵的艺术语言，他没有在传统的框架中打转转，而是更多的注入了时代气息和青春亮丽的色彩，画出了浩然之气的荷花大境界，在艺术上得到认可，同样在市场上也得到认可，这是市场经济的必然走向。2005年北京和上海的春季艺术品拍卖会上，分别以30万和36万的高价拍出，名列中青年画家单幅作品的榜首。2006年在上海崇源春季艺术品拍卖会上，沈威峰的荷花作品以60.5万元拍出。
回顾沈威峰的创作历程，我们把目光投向上个世纪九十年代，沈威峰应邀赴日本举办个人画展，画展所得全部捐赠给中日友好协会，93年在北京中国画研究院举办个人画展，十年的潜心研究，十年的创新之路，打造精品，将自己的花鸟画推向了一个新境界。
2003年由苏州市文化局、苏州市文联、苏州画院在上海中国画院美术馆成功举办了沈威峰作品研讨会：有继承，有创新，是美术界对沈威峰10年努力的肯定，创新的色墨混用使他在传统中国画核心里找到了属于自己的艺术语言，磅礴大气，一派大家风范，究其奥秘，在于他的作品充满动感和通透感，水气飘流，荷花摇曳，虚实相生，气吞云梦，其意境通达天地之间。沈威峰画出了荷的水气，在中国画中，画出水气太难了，在他的笔下，水是那么的灵活，如烟似梦的水气伸展向远方，画出了十里荷香的大境界。
名家评论：程大利（中国美术出版总社总编辑）：沈威峰最可贵的地方就是从生活中来，带着一种情感，带着一种激情去画生活，所以他的画有生机，有情感，是活的。

Looking back on Shen Weifeng's creative process, we set our sights on the 1990s. Shen Weifeng was invited to Japan to hold a personal painting exhibition, and all the proceeds from the exhibition were donated to the China Japan Friendship Association. In 1993, he held a personal painting exhibition in Beijing Chinese Painting Research Institute. He devoted himself to ten years of research and ten years of innovation to create excellent works and push his flower and bird paintings to a new realm.

In 2003, a seminar on Shen Weifeng's works was successfully held by Suzhou Municipal Bureau of culture, Suzhou Federation of literature and art, and Suzhou Academy of painting in the Art Museum of Shanghai Chinese Academy of painting.
