吴玉梅，1940年生，上海松江人。师从唐云。现为上海中国画院画师、国家一级美术师、中国美术家协会会员、上海文史研究馆馆员、中央文史研究馆书画院书画研究员。
1960年进上海中国画院为唐云先生入室弟子。
1964年为画院创作人员，《田头娘子军》发表于《支部生活》封面。作品《女社员》入选第五届全国美展。
1978年作品《秋趣》选入《上海中国画选集》。作品《麦壮花香承雨露》选入《花鸟画选辑》。
1979年作品《飞雪迎春到》选入《中国女画家作品选》。
1981年作品《牡丹》、《葡萄》、《茶花》选入中学美术教课书。作品《芭蕉小鸟》发表于北京《中国书画》。《拒霜》发表于9月9日《人民日报》，并在上海北京两院联展展出。
1982年作品《园荷泻露》发表于天津《迎春花》封面。
1983年作品《幽谷飘香》在日本大阪展出。
1984年作品《李贺诗意》入选第六届全国美展。加入中国美术家协会。
1985年作品《秋趣》在日本展出并获优秀奖。作品《愿大地处处和平》入选国际和平年画展。
1987年“吴玉梅作品展”在松江醉白池举办。
1988年作品《亭亭一树月明中》发表于《中国书画报》。
1989年《怎样画玉兰》一书由上海书画出版社出版。　
1990年《国画入门——芙蓉》、《国画入门——牡丹》由上海人民美术出版社出版。《怎样画玉兰》由香港明天出版社出版。
1991年赴新加坡参加上海中国画院精品展。
1993年《吴玉梅画集》由古吴轩出版社出版。
1994年作品《衣被天下暖人心》入选第八届全国美展。
1995年《画牡丹——画家技法示范》由古吴轩出版社出版。庆祝世界妇女大会的召开，为天安门城楼作大型布置画《花开富贵》。
1997年为文化部作大型布置画《荷塘月色》。
1998年《上海中国画院丛书——吴玉梅》出版。8月《荷塘清趣》捐赠中国扶贫基金会，并编入《功在千秋——扶贫书画集》
1999年作品《豌豆花开》入选“时代风采——庆祝上海解放五十周年”美展。12月捐赠上海图书馆《梨花小鸟》。
2000年6月庆祝建国五十周年和喜迎澳门回归捐赠作品《春晖》、《翠谷幽香》，并编入《中华情书画集》。
2003年参加宣传抗非典及捐赠活动，作《坚似青松，洁如白玉》。
2004年兼任上海香山画院副院长、上海香山书画社副社长。
2005年参加反法西斯战争胜利60周年展，作《高粱映红天》。9月参加上海中国画院在香港举办的“春华秋实”画展。12月聘为上海市文史研究馆馆员。
2006年9月赴内蒙古参加全国文史馆“草原情书画展”。同月赴丹东参加“鸭绿江”艺术节。
2007年6月赴丹东参加上海香山、丹东中山两院联展。9月参加在武汉举办的“中部情——六省一市文史馆书画名家艺术展”。作品《花香麦秀》参加全国画院双年展。10月参加在北京中国美术馆举办的“庆祝北京、上海两院成立五十周年联展”。
2008年1月捐赠慈善基金会松江分会作品两幅，5月捐赠四川地震灾区作品多幅。7月作品《金风玉露》捐赠北京，编入2008奥运纪念册《丹青流芳——中国书画名家迎奥运》。12月于松江美术馆举办个人画展“翰墨清韵——吴玉梅中国画作品展”，展出了近百幅作品，并出版画册《吴玉梅画集》。
2009年作品《春江水暖》入选上海美术大展。8月参加上海美术馆由文汇新民联合报业集团等主办的“永远的风景―――迎国庆60周年国画油画邀请展”。赴丹东参加“江海文汇翰墨相融——迎国庆六十周年”书画交流展。应邀参加“和谐江南——长三角书画名家邀请展”。

Wu Yumei, born in Songjiang, Shanghai in 1940. Learn from Tang Yun. He is now a painter of Shanghai Chinese Academy of painting, a national first-class artist, a member of China Artists Association, a librarian of Shanghai Literature and History Research Institute, and a researcher of calligraphy and painting of the central literature and History Research Institute.

In 1960, he entered Shanghai Chinese painting academy as a student of Mr. Tang Yun.

In 1981, his works peony, grape and Camellia were selected into the art teaching of middle school. His work banana bird was published in Chinese painting and calligraphy in Beijing. It was published in the people's daily on September 9 and exhibited at the joint exhibition of Shanghai and Beijing academies.

In 1982, his work "lotus in garden" was published on the cover of "winter jasmine" in Tianjin.

In 1983, his work "fragrance in the valley" was exhibited in Osaka, Japan.

In 1984, Li He's poetry was selected into the sixth national art exhibition. Join China Artists Association.

In 1985, his work autumn fun was exhibited in Japan and won the excellent award. His work "peace everywhere in the earth" was selected into the international peace year exhibition.

In 1987, "Wu Yumei Works Exhibition" was held in zuibaichi, Songjiang.

In 1988, his work Pavilion, tree and moon were published in Chinese painting and calligraphy newspaper.

In 1989, how to draw Magnolia was published by Shanghai calligraphy and painting press.

In 1990, "Introduction to traditional Chinese painting lotus" and "Introduction to traditional Chinese painting Peony" were published by Shanghai People's fine arts publishing house. How to draw magnolia is published by Hong Kong tomorrow press.

In 1991, he went to Singapore to participate in the fine art exhibition of Shanghai Chinese Academy of painting.

In 1993, Wu Yumei's collection of paintings was published by Gu Wuxuan publishing house.

In 1994, his work clothing quilt warms the heart of the world was selected into the Eighth National Art Exhibition.

In 1997, he made a large-scale layout painting "Moonlight in lotus pond" for the Ministry of culture.

In 1998, Wu Yumei, a series of Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy, was published. In August, "lotus pond Qingqu" was donated to China foundation for poverty alleviation and incorporated into "contribution to the future: collection of poverty alleviation books and paintings"

In 1999, his work "pea blossom" was selected into the "style of the times - Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Shanghai" art exhibition. In December, he donated pear flower bird to Shanghai Library.

In June 2000, he celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China and welcomed the return of Macao to donate works Chunhui and cuigu Youxiang, which were included in the collection of Chinese love letters and paintings.

In 2003, he took part in the activities of anti SARS and donation, and wrote "like a pine, like a white jade".
