林涛，祖籍福建莆田，自幼随父亲——国画家林金定学画，先后就学于厦门集美大学美术系及中央美术学院国画系。现为中国美术家协会会员，厦门大学艺术学院客座教授、厦门画院画家、福建省花鸟画家协会副秘书长、厦门美术家协会副秘书长、闽西书画院顾问、莆田南少林画院副院长、《中国花鸟画》杂志特约栏目主持等。作品曾多次参加国内外大赛并获奖。曾于台湾、香港等地多次举办个人画展，出版有多本个人画集。近年来尤其以金钱豹系列作品深受好评，并被选入中国100位最具学术价值与升值潜力国画家及中国美术出版界联合推荐提名中国中青年国画50家。
