朱常棣，生于重庆市，1960年毕业于成都工学院。1962年跟四川著名花鸟画家朱佩君女士学习中国花鸟画，后自攻中国山水画。
 现为中国美术家协会会员，四川省美术家协会理事、中国画艺委会委员，四川省山水画会会长。蜀都书画院副院长，成都市美术家协会副主席(常务)、秘书长。
 其作品常参加全国性大展：全国写生画展、全国漆画展、全国山水画展、全国画院双年展、第八、九届全国美展等等。曾获银奖、铜奖、优秀奖、佳作奖等。并在：北京、广州、天津、郑州、兰州、台湾、汉城、吉隆坡、纽约、德国马堡等地，举办过个人画展。出版有《朱常棣山水画集》、《朱常棣山水画》、《朱常棣线描写生》、《朱常棣的巴山蜀水》等。
 朱常棣主攻巴山蜀水，视野广阔，其作品分为三大类，一、高原系列，主要描绘四川甘、阿、凉少数民族地区地情风貌，如《谷玛早春》、《九寨外的金秋》等；二、江边系列，主要写四川江河、峡山、悬崖峭壁之风情及巍峨雄伟之气派，如《宁嘉河畔的小镇》、《金岷河上》、《金渡河的早晨》等；三、农家系列，主要绘四川盆地农家之风土人情，以如诗如画之小品为多，如《南梓金村》、《秋声》、《邛峨山下》等。
 朱常棣提出：物体在光作用下均为基本几何体及其组合，总结出《形体学理论》;，在用于山水画教学中取得显著成效。

Zhu Changdi, born in Chongqing, graduated from Chengdu Institute of technology in 1960. In 1962, she studied Chinese flower and bird painting with Ms. Zhu Peijun, a famous flower and bird painter in Sichuan Province, and then started to work in Chinese landscape painting.

He is now a member of China Artists Association, director of Sichuan Artists Association, member of Chinese Painting Art Committee, and President of Sichuan Landscape Painting Association. Vice president of Shudu Academy of calligraphy and painting, vice chairman (Executive) and Secretary General of Chengdu Artists Association.

His works often participate in national exhibitions: National Painting Exhibition, national painting exhibition, national landscape painting exhibition, National Painting Institute Biennale, the eighth and ninth national art exhibition, etc. He has won silver award, bronze award, excellent award, excellent work award, etc. And in: Beijing, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, Taiwan, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Marburg, Germany and other places, held a personal exhibition. He has published Zhu Changdi's landscape painting collection, Zhu Changdi's landscape painting, Zhu Changdi's line drawing, Zhu Changdi's Bashan and SHUSHUI, etc.

Zhu Changdi mainly focuses on Bashan and SHUSHUI, with a broad vision. His works are divided into three categories. First, plateau series, mainly depicting the local conditions and features of Sichuan Gan, a and Liang ethnic minority areas, such as "early spring of Guma", "golden autumn outside Jiuzhai", etc.; second, Riverside series, mainly depicting Sichuan rivers, gorge mountains, cliffs and majestic style, such as "town by Ningjia River" Jinmin River, Jindu River's morning, etc.; 3. Farmhouse series, mainly depicting the local customs of farmhouses in Sichuan Basin, mainly including poems and picturesque sketches, such as nanzijin village, Qiusheng, qionge mountain, etc.

Zhu Changdi proposed that all objects are basic geometry and their combinations under the action of light, and summarized the theory of physique, which has achieved remarkable results in the teaching of landscape painting.
