曹剑新，男，1955年出生于衡阳市，在雁城衡阳得画事启蒙，毕业于湖南师大美术系中国画专业，曾入上海师大专修水彩画二年，师从朱辉、殷保康、金立德教授，现为深圳市美协理事，罗湖区文联委员、罗湖美术书法家协会主席。
从艺近三十年，任教过大学和中学。师者，以传道、授业、解惑为己任，乐此不疲。习师职从未弃艺道，多年辛勤耕耘，终成漂泼水趣、形色合一、情景交融、彩墨成趣的朴素画风。艺事多多，参加过全国性的大小画展，办过个展，出过薄书，获过大奖，有佳作被美术场馆和赏画者收藏。

2013年12月29日，衡阳籍知名画家曹剑新携百余幅作品，在衡阳博物馆举行曹剑新水彩画展。衡阳市委常委、宣传部长谢宏治、衡阳市政协副主席李慧星出席。
2013年12月31日，曹剑新水彩画展研讨会又在中国雁城.艺术文化创意园举办，数十位书法界名家大师汇聚一堂品评佳作。
