王立民，别名立酩，字无量，号鸿寿、牧公。男，山东蓬莱人。1957年12月6日生于哈尔滨。斋名三宜阁。毕业于哈尔滨师范大学政治系（经济学学士）、黑龙江大学文学与新闻传播学院中国古典文学研究生班。在哈尔滨师范大学读书时，曾担任黑龙江省大学生书法协会第一届主席，黑龙江省青年美术书法家协会副主席。1984年于哈师大毕业留校美术系任教，后长期从事期刊编辑及文艺管理工作。
现为黑龙江省作家协会副主席，黑龙江省文学艺术界联合会副主席，编审，中国诗经学会会员，中国书法家协会学术委员会委员，中国美术家协会会员，西泠印社社员，中国作家协会会员，中国汉画像研究会会员，黑龙江省文艺评论研究会副会长，黑龙江省诗词协会副会长，黑龙江省书法家协会副主席，黑龙江省省直机关书法家协会主席，黑龙江省美术家协会理事。书法受业于游寿、周齐先生，篆刻受业于刘江、吴颐人先生，绘画受业于晁楣、贾平西先生。书法继承了李瑞清、胡小石、游寿一派的金石书风并有自己独特的风格；篆刻宗法秦汉，遒劲浪漫；绘画作品传统功底深厚并具现代语言。
书法作品曾参加首届国际青年书法展览，入选全国第六届书法展，提名入选全国第六届中青展。篆刻作品入展西泠印社第四届篆刻作品评展，入选西泠印社第二届国际篆刻书法作品大展。中国画《秋韵双蝶》在“情系奥运·中国当代花鸟画大展—第十四届当代中国花鸟画大展”获二等奖。多次在日本、韩国、新加坡、俄罗斯及香港、澳门举办书画篆刻展览。著有《文心雕虫》、《王立民书法艺术》、《王立民印稿》、《王立民画集》、《王立民书法集》、《近现代书法史》(合著)，参与编写的由陈振濂主编的《大学书法教程》获首届中国书法兰亭奖理论奖。主编《游寿书法集》及《北魏嘎仙洞西壁摩崖刻石》(首次出版的中国最北部摩崖刻石)。在2006年第三期的《新华文摘》中摘录了两版王立民关于古文字研究的文章《“集形短句”—汉字形成过程中由萌芽到成熟的重要形态》。在《诗经》研究中，提出了“彤管”为玉（石）管的观点，并写出《<诗经>“彤管”为玉（石）管说及其他》一文，权威人士认为此说填补了诗经研究中的一项空白。《关于嘎仙洞东侧背北石壁新发现文字的初步分析》发表在2003年第1期《北方文物》，并被收入2003年第6期《新华文摘》报刊篇目辑览。香港大学陈亚飞先生在2005年《书法研究》上，发表《李瑞清书法研究的回顾与检讨》一文中提到：王立民的研究“体现了90年代以来对李瑞清研究最重要的成果”。中国书协学术委员会副主任周俊杰先生在《王立民书法集》序中说：“作为具有思想深度的历史学家和作为具有创造力的书法家的王立民同样都是我们这个时代的骄傲。”
