林跃，原籍山东，四川省广安市人，1987年四川美术学院绘画系毕业，现任四川省美术家协会副主席，“2012（伦敦）奥林匹克美术大会”艺术指导委员会主任委员。
林跃专以藏獒为创作题材，多年来，他深入藏区创作出了非常丰富而深刻反映藏獒及藏族人民生活的艺术作品。他的作品曾多次在国内外展出并获奖，同时被哈佛大学、耶鲁大学、列宾美术学院等世界名校所珍藏，以及被默多克、罗杰斯、杰克罗森、李昌钰博士等国际名流收藏，被誉为“中国藏獒画家第一人”、“东方画獒大师”、“守望东方生灵的艺术使者”。：
