刘凌沧美术作品

刘凌沧，河北固安人。1933年至1937年任北平艺专讲师，兼任京华美术学院教授。1949年任职於民族美术研究所，次年执教於中央美术学院，为教授，中国画系人物科主任。中国美术家协会会员。曾任北京工笔重彩画会名誉会长。擅长历史画、仕女画。早年作画以工笔重彩为主，後渐兼工带写。作品有《赤眉军无盐大捷图》(陈列於中国历史博物馆)、《淝水之战》、《卓文尹听琴图》等。撰有《唐代人物画》、《中国重彩人物画技法》、《中国画的工具材料》以及《民间壁画技法》等论述。

少年时随民间画师李东园学画，又随师到北京，从事壁画修整和编给历史故事画。
1926年入中国画学研究会，从师徐燕孙、管平湖学习工笔重彩人物画，兼《艺林旬刊》、《艺林月刊》编辑。
後入北平艺术专科学校深造。
