何昌林画作

音乐理论家。江苏宜兴人。1966年毕业于上海音乐学院作曲系。1981年获中国艺术研究院研究生部文学硕士学位。历任青岛京剧团作曲、乐队指挥，中国音乐学院《中国音乐》副主编，中国音协第四届理事。致力于中国古代乐谱的研究。撰有《天平琵琶谱之考、解、译》等论文，并译解、演奏唐传五弦琵琶谱《秦王破阵乐》。
1943年生于四川新都
1965年四川美术学院附中毕业后，考入四川美术学院工艺美术系装潢专业
1970年四川美术学院毕业后，分配到四川省凉山彝族自治州文化局从事美术辅导和美术创作工作
1985年调入四川美术出版社从事编辑工作
1982年创作的组画《火把节》（二人合作）入选《全国少数民族美术作品展览》并获“佳作奖”
1984年创作的组画《彝寨即景》（二人合作）入选《第六届全国美术作品展览优秀作品展》
1984年参与集体创作的大幅屏画《凉山风情》获《第六届全国美术作品展览》铜牌奖
1987年作品《午餐》入选《中国现代版画展》赴日本展出
1991年作品《彝家的太阳》入选“日本艺术交流中心”举办的《记念中国新兴版画运动60周年中国当代版画新作展》
论文《火的民族，火的艺术》在中央工艺美术学院学报《装饰》1986年第3期发表
论文《凉山彝族漆器艺术研究》在四川美术学院学报《当代美术家》1996年第1期发表
2004年第8期《民族画报》以“彝乡情”为题对画家及作品作专题介绍
1995年接受日本“朝日新闻社”采访，采访记录于1995年8月25日《朝日新闻周刊》刊登
