字云谷，别号云来、云溪、云白、刘仙客、天台仙客、西蜀漫士、楼桑之人等。室名退尺斋、瘘桑室。四川省纳溪人，1936年毕业于国立北平艺术专科学校，后为职业画家。1949年后任天津市中山门第三中学美术教师，天津文史研究馆特约馆员、天津画院特约画师。中国美术家协会会员、中国书法家协会会员。作品有《濠逸图》、《和谐》等。著作有《论画树》《刘止庸诗文题跋集》、《云溪画鱼》、《树谱》等。
1910年1月1日生，四川纳溪人。1936年毕业於国立北平艺术专科学校西画系，後为自由职业画家。1949年後，历任天津河东区第八中学、四十五中学、八十六中学等校美术教师。中国美术家协会会员，中国书法家协会会员，天津文史研究馆特约馆员，天津画院特约画师，天津老年书画研究会顾问，四川泸州市诗书画院名誉院长，广西石涛艺术学会名誉理事。擅长中国画、书法，尤长画鱼。中国画作品有《云泉》；《濠逸图》藏於英国吉尔赛吴莲伯博物馆；《和谐图》藏於美国克里夫兰艺术博物馆。书法初宗晋唐上，上溯魏汉，参以篆籀，作品入选全国第二届书法篆刻展。1989年于天津举办个人书画展。著有《画鱼诀》、《树石图谱》等.
