王石岑(1914.9—1996.8)。原名王忠信。安徽合肥人。擅长中国山水画。少年时代师从合肥名画家陈茀塘学画，40年代在四川师从中央大学教授、艺术大师黄君璧学画。后又继承和弘扬了新安画派的优秀传统，作品具有坚实的传统功力，浓厚的生活气息，鲜明的时代风貌。笔墨酣畅淋漓、苍劲厚重、郁邃空灵、气韵浑弘，追求一种秀雅、奇峭的风格。作品多以黄山及长江三峡为题材，歌颂大自然的秀美和河山的壮丽。由于数十年的辛勤创作和教学，对安徽新山水画事业的发展有着不可磨灭的贡献。先后任教于安徽师范学院、皖南大学、安徽艺术学院、合肥师范学院，安徽师范大学艺术系，教授。曾任首届中国画研究院院委、安徽省书画院副院长、中国美术家协会会员、安徽省美术家协会常务理事、安徽省诗词协会顾问、安徽省文联委员、安徽省政协三、四届常委。
出生于合肥城内，幼年家境清寒。30年代师从合肥名画家陈茀塘学画。抗战期间流亡四川，1942年得遇中央大学教授、艺术大师黄君璧，从此苦学不懈，深得黄氏相授，并引荐他向徐悲鸿、张大千等名流请益。因艺术风格颇似乃师，故学画期间经常代师绘画，馈赠友人。天台晓色
全国解放后回到合肥，以满腔热忱投身社会主义建设事业。1953年，作品《黄山》、《关山万里图》入选全国美展，引人注目。1954年，应邀出席华东美协成立大会。1959年完成竖2．5米、横4．5米的巨幅国画《迎客松》，以其为样本制作的铁画迎客松至今陈列于北京大民大会堂。1962年加入中国美术家协会。《晓雾初开》、《梅山水库》等四幅作品被中国美术馆收藏。有些作品长期陈列于我国驻英国、法国大使馆。作品多次被选送到意大利、日本、美国和香港等国家和地区展出。70年代所作巨幅壁画《梅岭初睛》，长期悬挂在合肥骆岗国际机场候机大厅。80年代中期，还抱病培养出安徽省首届山水画研究生。
