李苇成1941年3月生，浙江湖州人。1960年至1965年浙江美术学院国画系五年本科，1965年至1972年北京人民美术出版社连环画编辑室创作组，1973年至1978年镇江市群艺馆美术组，1978年至2001年镇江中国画院国画创作研究艺委会主任、副院长（98年主持工作），2001年退休从事国画创作。
擅长中国画，工人物、山水。作品笔墨淋漓，沉浑深厚，秀润苍郁。多次入选全国美展及省、市画展并有获奖。曾赴日本、美国、香港、台湾、南斯拉夫及驻外使馆展出，曾在上海、日本举办个人画展。作品被多处美术馆、博物馆、纪念馆及海内外友人收藏。作品在《美术》、《中国书画》、《人民日报》、《书与画》等刊物上发表。出版有《李苇成画集》、《李苇成山水画集》，作品、传略收入多部画集及辞书。中国美术家协会会员，中国美术家协会江苏分会理事，镇江市美术家协会主席，镇江中国画院院长，国家一级美术师。
