1954年出生，安徽合肥人。1983年毕业于中央工艺美术学院（现清华大学美术学院），文学学士，1988年中央工艺美术学院书籍艺术专业进修结业。现为安徽大学艺术学院设计系主任、副教授从事过专业设计、外贸业务、行业管理、编辑出版和高校教师等工作。中国美术家协会会员，中国工业设计协会会员，中国工艺美术学会会员，中国书籍装帧艺术研究会会员，安徽省美协设计艺术委员会副主任兼秘书长。
