1956年毕业于山东师范学院艺术系，留校任教。先后执教于山东师范学院、山东艺术专科学校、山东艺术学院等院校。山东艺术学院美术系、设计系系主任。中国美术家协会会员获全国优秀教师荣誉奖章。
出版有《怎样写美术字》、《花边装饰》、《动物图案的写生和变化》。
论文有《汉字书法与美术学渊源》、《汉字结构与力学》等。
