芦继庆，男汉族，青海西宁人。1982年毕业于青海师范大学艺术系，主修油画专业，师从著名油画家黄绍京先生，
现为中国美术家协会会员。美术系教授。除油画艺术外，主要研究方向为艺术理论及艺术哲学，涉猎文学、设计、建筑、艺术史等艺术门类，具有较为广泛的艺术兴趣和广博的艺术视野。
已发表论文十余篇出版学术著作《艺术存在的方式》（约40万字，兰大出版社07年10月）此书为青海第一部艺术理论专著，也是第一部专为师范类艺术专业撰写的艺术概论，为改变我国师范院校艺术专业长期沿用专业艺术院校艺术概论的现状做出的有益尝试。获国家发明专利两项油画作品四次入选全国画展在全省高校教师教学竞赛中获得优秀奖
