潘真(1929.11—)别名慕莼，河北交河人。擅长中国画、连环画。1949年入伍，从事部队战场美术宣传工作，其后搞部队美术普及工作。1978年转业至河北美术出版社，任美编及编辑室主任、副编审。作品有《小憩林阴下》、《秋收场上》、《斗杀西门庆》等。出版有《潘真山水画集》。作品《清风十里展画屏》获2004首届中国美术家协会会员中国画精品展优秀奖。
潘真原来的绘画以人物为主，晚年专攻山水画。所画偏重写实，多画太行山区农村景物，重生活气息。田园风情，独具风貌。
其作品曾在美国、加拿大、澳大利亚、泰国参加展出。并先后在日本、新加坡、马来西亚，多次举办个人山水画展。已出版个人作品集三部。在国内诸多画展中获得多种奖项。其作品刊载画集、报刊者达百余种。河北电视台曾两次作专题报道，介绍其艺术成就。中国美术馆、毛主席纪念堂、中央电视台以及江苏、武汉、西安、敦煌等美术馆均有收藏。现为中国美协会员，河北山水画研究会顾问，国内多种文艺书画家辞书刊载其业绩。
潘真作品
潘真的山水画是临近离休才转为专攻的，但是他热爱山水画的情结，却是发轫于童年。他十二岁离开老家，当童工，买劳力，流离失所，饥寒交迫，思亲想家辗转彷徨，常在灯前月下，用石灰木炭涂涂抹抹，幻想家乡情状，如见亲人容颜，借以缓解思念故土的情怀。没想到小小年纪竟萌发了深爱图画的念头。参军以后，因有书画专长，分配到部队文艺工作团。走上专业的道路。在朝鲜前线，他以画笔为武器，冒着敌人炮火，在林丛，战壕、坑道中写标语、放幻灯，拉洋片，揭露敌人罪行，歌颂我军英雄业绩。为此而立功受奖。回国以后，坚持在部队做美术工作，并为部队培育美术骨干，扩大了部队美术队伍。60年代初，在北京、上海两次参与全军美展的组织工作。64年在上海展出时，曾率领“战士画家小组”和上海美术界进行学术交流。并为上海《文汇报》撰稿，介绍部队开展美术创作的情况。转业后，在出版社做编辑工作期间，在这里他结识了众多画家，也发现、培育了不少青年作者，受过他培育、指点、帮助的后辈，遍及全国各地，堪称桃李满天下。
潘真的这种特殊经历，既有着丰厚的生活阅历，又夯实了多方面的绘画功底。同时，也培养、锻造了他宽厚、平和、善良、坦荡、率直的优秀品格和精神情操。多年来，因工作需要，他努力钻研人物画。而对自幼钟爱的山水画只能忍痛割爱。工作之余，偶然画上几笔。在多年军旅生涯中，凡遇奇山异水、山村美景时，也只能寥寥几笔，记在速写本中。离休后，检点旧作，这些山乡小稿，多以千计。这也是他晚年能决心放弃人物专攻山水的内在因素。
功夫不负有心人，从沧州人画展之后的二十年间，他努力研习画理，进山写生，多方借鉴，埋头创作，渐渐形成自己的独特风貌。上世纪90年代初，出版社八位编辑举办一次“八编辑联展”先后在石家庄、北京、天津、南京巡回展出。三叔的画受到众多专家的关注。江苏老画家宋文治、黄养辉，天津的孙其峰，北京的李琦、刘勃舒等给予他很高的评价。宋文治在北京两次冒雨到中国画研究院观看八编辑联展，他对潘真说：“用传统笔墨表现现实生活是我多年想要解决的问题，一直未能做好，而你解决得好，我要向你学习!”刘勃舒曾把潘真请到他的办公室以朋友的身份邀请潘真到中国画研究院来深造。孙其峰先生看了画展后，和潘真长时间促膝谈艺，在肯定
潘真艺术成就的同时，在表现手法上给予他很诚恳的指点和帮助。八十二岁高龄的老画家黄养辉参观后异常激动，拉着潘真的手说：“从你的画上看到一个画家的责任，你是一位能严格自律而不追风潮的有艺术良心的画家。”事后，他挥笔题辞：“艺术者以真、善、美思想与技术结合而成，无真便无善美可言，世之以虚假欺人者，不足道也。潘真作画真诚纯朴，从生活中来，故能感人，殊可贵也。”并大书“真、善、美”墨宝以赠之。也正是通过八编辑
联展，潘真的画也受到国外画廊的重视。当时就受到韩国、新加坡的邀请。以后数年间在新加坡、马来西亚、日本举办过五次个人山水画展。在韩国、美国、泰国、加拿大、澳大利亚等国都有作品参加展出。现出版个人画集四种(一册为新加坡版)在国内经常参加各种画展、并屡屡获得各种奖励，载有他的作品的大型画册已有一百余部。全国各地多家博物馆、美术馆收藏有他的作品。
对上述这些成就和赞许，潘真很少提及。他认为这些对一位老年画家没有任何实际意义。他深知艺无止境，国内艺术新秀辈出，人才济济，相形之下，差距甚大。想再前进一步也须付出极大努力。他常说：“我一生学画，异常艰辛，刻苦自学不知走了多少弯路。时至今日，只能说对艺术刚有所悟，惜已垂垂老矣!好在年岁虽高，身体尚健，但愿能保持这颗珍爱艺术的纯真性情，与时俱进，当不负此生步入艺途的一片初衷!”，他对自已的艺术追求十分清醒。他认为自己最初学画，原本为着革命需要。艺术服务于社会、服务于人民，是其根本宗旨。虽然，当今社会开放，绘画也卷入商品大潮，但他固有的认识仍未改变。不论社会上流行什么艺术潮流，他始终坚守
自己的一片艺术净土，不为风潮所动，不为名利所扰。坚持着偏爱表现山村生活情趣的写实路子。求真善美的统一，求雅与俗的共赏。现下，仍然每年都到山区写生，他认为只有不断深入生活，才能保持自己的头脑清醒，保持艺术创造的活力。对艺术表现中的意与象、形与神、情与景这些概念的理解，他觉得应是相对的，是相互依存而不能或缺的。所谓“皮之不存毛将焉附，"其中存在极大的包容空间。所以他对自己的绘画道路和艺术风格的看法，又是深怀自信的。
