《雁荡山图》卷，明，叶澄作，绫本，设色，纵35cm，横290.3cm。

　　本幅自识：“雁蕩山圖，嘉靖丙戌燕山葉澄作。”

　　此图描绘的是位于浙江省境内号称东南第一山的北雁荡山。画卷徐徐展开，一处处风景逐渐展现，按作者以小字标出的各处风景的名称，计有石门潭、章毅楼、石佛岩、石樑洞、灵风洞、罗汉洞、净明寺、蓼花峰、响岩等。作者对景写生，笔底风景各具奇姿，虽仅是雁荡山的一部分，却已展现出它的奇秀特色和壮阔气势。

　　图中作者行笔尖峭细劲，山间林木、点景人物乃至溪边乱石均刻画细致。山岩的外轮廓线方折挺劲，山体内部则将一种尖峭而锐利的短皴线与短促劲健的小斧劈皴相结合，同时以墨加色淡施晕染。繁密细劲的用笔与丰富的用色使画面气氛趋于活跃，极好地表现出雁荡山奇异、秀美的景色特征。远山空勾轮廓，染以花青，山间云气迷濛，更加强了画面的层次感。

　　叶澄传世作品极少，而此图艺术水平之高堪称杰作。正如清初著名收藏家梁清标对此图的评价：“堪称希世宝。……不啻超出乎唐、宋、元各大家名迹矣。”

This picture depicts the Beiyandang Mountain, which is located in Zhejiang Province and is known as the first mountain in the southeast. The scroll unfolded slowly, and the scenery gradually unfolded everywhere. According to the name of the scenery marked by the author in small letters, there were Shimentan, Zhangyilou, Shifoyan, Shiliang Cave, Lingfeng Tunnel, Luohan Cave, Jingming Temple, Liaohuafeng, Xiangyan and so on. The author's sketches of scenery and scenery at the bottom of his pen have their own peculiar features. Although they are only part of Yandang Mountain, they have shown its peculiar features and magnificent momentum.

In the picture, the author's brushwork is sharp and vigorous. The trees in the mountains, scenery figures and even the rocks near the stream are carefully depicted. The outlines of the rocks are stiff, while the interior of the rocks combines a sharp and sharp short chamfer line with a short and vigorous axe, and at the same time dizzies in ink and light. The dense and vigorous brush and abundant color make the atmosphere of the picture more active, which shows the peculiar and beautiful features of Yandang Mountain. The outline of the distant mountain sketch, dyed with blue, clouds and mist between the mountains, strengthens the sense of hierarchy of the picture.

Ye Cheng's works handed down from generation to generation are very few, and the artistic level of this picture is so high that it can be called a masterpiece. Just as Liang Qingbiao, a famous collector in the early Qing Dynasty, commented on this picture: "It is a treasure of the world." It goes beyond the famous places of Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties.
