男，1965年5月生于安徽天长，1990年毕业于中央美院，安徽省天长市书画院副院长，现为中国美术家协会会员，中国手指画研究会理事。《画坛》杂志栏目主持。《中国画家》杂志主编，《画坛》编委。安徽省书协会员，安徽省青联委员，市政协委员。
作品曾应邀参加“著名花鸟画家作品展”获最高奖。《寒塘双清》《水墨牡丹》《荷花》等被中央美院陈列馆、中国文化部、中央电视台和各地美术机构收藏。曾赴韩国、日本等地举办画展，被人事部授予“中国画杰出人才奖”。由香港新闻出版社出版《中国画坛精英任正江画集》由国家邮政总局出版《中国画坛年度精品任正江专辑》。
国画《盼》入选全国首届中国山水画展、《归》获庆祝澳门回归书画展优秀奖、《归来一片兰天》获建国五十周年暨迎接澳门回归全国诗人、书法家、画家作品大奖、展览铜奖。作品《秋色正清华》入选2004年首届中国美术家协会会员中国画精品展。
专题发表于《美术报》、《中国书画报》、《美术》等报刊杂志。出版《中国画坛精英任正江画集》。杨柳青出版《任正江工笔画技法》等画集。
1987年，《楚楚净如栻》获得首届“黄山书画大赛”银奖。
1988年，《山水》获“花山杯”全国书画大赛铜奖。《凌波仙子》获“珑郎杯”中国书画大赛金奖。
1990年，《寒塘双清》杯中央美术学院陈列馆收藏。
1992年，《有收获的秋天》参加国际水墨画大展。（中国美协主办）
