朱文元1968年出生于潮州市饶平县，现为广东省美术家协会会员，其作品曾入选全国首届“草原情”中国画提名展，全国首届“徐悲鸿奖”中国画展，2007年、2008年全国中国画展和第十一届全国美展等。
