现为中国美术家协会会员，河南师范大学美术学院教授、硕士生导师，河南国画家协会常务理事。
20世纪90年代入北京画院深造，从师著名画家卢沉、周思聪、王文芳等名家。
2000年毕业于中央美术学院中国画系贾又福先生工作室山水画研究生班。
近年来，作品多次在省及全国美术大展中展出、获奖并被收藏。其作品笔墨酣畅、沉郁健壮，写意手法多变。作品《豫西记事》入选全国第八届美展；《踏月行》入选《毛泽东同志在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话》发表50周年全国美展；《金秋》在建国50周年全国书画大展中获成就奖；《世纪行》在中、日、韩水墨画邀请展中获金奖；《林间疏雨》在首届中国水墨小品大展中获银奖；《黄源秋歌》在纪念孔子诞辰2550周年全国美术大展中获优秀奖；《霜秋》获首届河南省山水画艺术大展金奖。先后参加第二届全国花鸟画展，国际水墨画邀请展，1995年中国体育美术大展，迎奥运全国中国画大展，全国第四、第五届山水画大展。作品被选送往日本、韩国、新加坡等国展出，部分作品被毛主席纪念堂、中南海、中外美术馆、博物馆、艺术馆收藏。
