唐醉石(1885—1969.4)，原名源邺，字李侯、蒲佣，号醉龙、醉农、韭园、醉石、醉石山农、印匠、休景斋，湖南长沙人。幼随外祖父谋生于杭州。博古多识，秦汉碑碣一入其目，真伪立判。善画。工书法，篆书得力于两周金石及秦刻石，隶书融会诸汉碑之长，书风静穆古雅。精篆刻，宗秦、汉，受西泠八家影响颇深。存世有《醉石山农印稿》。本印谱共选录有290印，为六十岁前作品。
曾任北洋政府国务院印铸局技正科长、所长、故宫博物院顾问、南京政府印铸局技师、湖北省文史研究馆副馆长。是西泠印社创社社员，东湖印社创社社长。列名中国美术学院〈20世纪篆刻大师〉专著。
其治印遗稿经其子达聪整理出版者有：〈急就篇唐醉石篆刻集〉、〈唐醉石自用印印存〉、〈醉翁印最〉、〈醉石山农印稿残篇〉等四种。待印行者一种：〈醉石印稿佚编〉收平生治印
式印蜕近四千方。
另有〈唐醉石治印选集〉、〈合南北手为唐型〉印谱行世。
幼时失怙，然性敏而好学，临池日课，从不间断，据文相质，悠然意远，祖父极钟爱。十八岁时随外祖李辅耀宦游浙江，后即客居杭州。因其外祖父一家均是饱学名士，故家中藏书之广涉及经、史、子、集，碑版图录，靡所不备。每有不解处，家人为之解答、常以笔录之，天长日久，所学益进，为其修养、见地奠定较为厚实之根底。居杭得与浙中文人墨客相往来，朝夕浸润于翰墨之场，可谓是钟灵琉秀，熏陶非浅。西泠印社创社不久，其即热心社事，出力甚勤。为早期社员之一。当时社内胜迹甚多，其中有[斯文奥]一址，题额隶书三字，即为唐氏手书也。此时他在书法篆刻创作上声誉日隆，对碑碣拓本更有较强的甄别能力，又迥然有别于市井贩售古董者。能说出此件为真，真在何处，此件为赝品，又假在何处。几经实践验之，遂为人信眼，其名亦不胫而走。不久，故宫博物院文物馆在北京初创，他被聘为顾问，其鉴赏之客，至终老为学界赞叹。
醉石刻印，早年拟浙派者曾辑为《醉石山农印稿》；一九三四年，西泠印社印行之《现代篆刻第六集》，乃《唐醉石印存》，体貌颇众。晚年以《急就篇》入印，每印三字，品类尤富，佳构甚多，但仅成约八十石，尝装成屏条四幅悬於家，颇自爱赏，惜以年高，至殁仍未竣事。昔丁仁有《集论印绝句咏西泠印社同人诗》，咏醉石一首云：六如居士最清狂（丁敬），拨蜡销金记汉章（查岐昌）。倘续印人他日传（钟大源），素心名又躁钱塘（倪印之）。
六十年代，於武汉倡导创立东湖印社，被推为首任社长，後学多受教益。一九九○年，湖北省文史研究馆辑印《唐醉石治印选集》面世，收印五百八十余方，风貌繁富，生平代表作，多萃於是。吴丈蜀以《浣溪沙》词弁其首云：『岳麓锺灵果有成，武林结社创西泠，从教印苑播清声。
