刘运君，字子照，年生于江苏沛县，1960年毕业于徐州师范学院。现为中国美术家协会会员、徐州大风书画研究院院长、西楚山水画会副会长、江苏建筑学院兼职教授。
1991年参加“首次中日书画作品公开征集展”；
1993年7月，香港《文汇报》专版介绍其人其艺；
1994年山水画《农家》入编上海市九年级美术教材，延用至今；
1995年5月在江苏省美术馆举办个展，《江苏美术》报增刊一期，作专题介绍；
1996年4月江苏电视台为其拍摄人物专访片《乡村流韵笔中情》，对其人其艺作专题介绍；
1997年7月17日《人民日报》（海外版）专栏介绍其人其艺；
1997年7月《桥》杂志专版介绍其人其艺；

2007年8月应国务院机关事务管理局北戴河服务局邀请，到北戴河休假，并创作书画作品
