丁秀阁，别名铁峰，1932年3月生于山西屯留。为中国美术家协会会员，江苏美协名誉理事，国家一级美术师，南京书画院特聘画师。
自幼酷爱美术，1957年毕业于南京工人业余艺校，曾任任南京晨光机器厂工会宣传干事。作品有《炉前工》、《水乡曲》、《春满秦淮》。50年代开始，从事国画创作研究至今已半个多世纪，是建国后成长的第一代卓有成就的国画家之一。其作品人物画《战地友谊》、《炉前》获江苏青年美展一等奖，并经国家选送先后到东欧、东南亚等十余个国家展出获好评。得当代绘画大师傅抱石先生和江苏美术界负责人亚明先生的关爱，59年被邀参加全国美术工作会议。江苏美协成立被推选为第一、第二两届常务理事。两次出席全国文学艺术代表大会，与毛主席合影并受到同总理鼓励。1963年经省、市美协推荐进江苏国画院进修，师承钱松喦、亚明等老师。
50岁后潜心研究中国山水画，数十年孜孜不倦，默默耕耘。所作山水画既追求传统笔墨又富有时代新意。笔墨苍劲、气运生动。苍莽中透灵气、幽淡中见逸趣，为广大收藏者所珍爱。中国美术馆、天津艺术博物馆、毛主席纪念堂等中外许多国家的博物馆、美术馆收藏。其艺术业绩载入《中国美术家人名大辞典》、《中国现代美术家人名大辞典》、《中国当代书画家名人大辞典》等中外十余部权威性巨典。出版有《丁秀阁人物画》、《丁秀阁山水画集》等。
