刘阿本，字莫闲，号滋艺堂，1960年生于重庆市永川，职业画家，系“艺庐”世家第十二代传人。

自幼随父刘声道学习金石、书画。后又师从董寿平、刘继卣等诸位老先生。嚼墨五味，解绳索新，案牍耕耘40余载，创作出的“洗墨洗彩法”在画坛独树一帜。从1999年至今，作品曾获中国美协全国大展成就奖1次、铜奖2次、9次入选。2005年《君子宏论天下兴》等17件作品被中国国家博物馆永久性收藏。其作品先后被国家党政军机关、美术馆、艺术团体及海内外收藏家所珍藏。

已出版有中国独树一帜名家《刘阿本画洗墨竹》、《中国优秀美术家·刘阿本》、《刘阿本中国画作品》等画册。作品入编《当代中国画精品选》、《中国画二十家》等20余部大型画集。

刘阿本现为中国农工民主党党员、中国美术家协会会员、中国书画家协会理事、广东美术家协会会员、重庆市永川区文联副主席。
