林维，笔名大惟，别署“崇德居主人”，祖籍福建连城。1991年毕业于上海戏剧学院舞台美术系设计专业，获文学学士学位。2003年考入中国美术学院国画系，师从闵学林、顾震岩教授，2006年毕业并获文学硕士学位。2009年考入中央美术学院造型艺术研究所，师从郭怡孮、薛永年教授，2012年7月毕业，并获文学博士学位。现为中国艺术研究院文学艺术创作研究院专职画家，国家二级美术师，硕士研究生导师，中国美术家协会会员。
作品多次参加中国美术学院、中央美术学院、中国艺术研究院和全国的各类画展。出版有《学院派精英——林维》，中央美术学院博士研究创作集《格局·格调——中国画卷林维》，中国历代名画技法精讲系列《故宫画谱——花鸟画仙鹤》，中国艺术研究院文学艺术创作研究院艺术家系列作品集《林维画集》，恭王府艺术系列展《本源与新境——林维花鸟画精品集》。美术学博士论丛《通人画家郭味蕖》、《巨擘传世——近现代中国画大家·郭味蕖》等画集和专著。
