刘建平，天津大学党委书记。男，汉族，1953年4月生，山西人，1974年9月入党。1970年6月参加工作，北京钢铁学院机械系毕业，研究生学历，教授/博士生导师。现任天津大学党委书记（副部长级），校务委员会主任，中共天津市委委员。

 2016年10月9日，据天津大学网站消息，近日，天津大学召开教师干部大会，宣布中共中央、国务院关于天津大学党委书记、校长职务任免的决定。中共中央、国务院决定：李家俊同志任天津大学党委书记；因年龄原因，刘建平同志不再担任天津大学党委书记职务；钟登华同志担任天津大学校长（副部长级）。

 Liu Jianping, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University. Male, Han nationality, born in April 1953, Shanxi, joined the Party in September 1974. Joined in work in June 1970. Graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Beijing Iron and Steel College, with a postgraduate degree and a professor/doctoral supervisor. He is currently the Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University (deputy minister), the director of the school affairs committee, and a member of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council decided that Comrade Li Jiajun was appointed Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University; Comrade Liu Jianping ceased to be Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin University because of his age; and Comrade Zhong Denghua was President of Tianjin University (Vice-minister).
