刘亚安，擅长油画、水粉画。1987年，油画《时间·空间·生命》、《复杂气象》入选“建军60周年全国美展”；油画《足迹》（合作）入选“中国第二届体育美展”。1990年，油画《寺外》、《月》入选“首届中国油画精品展”；油画《世外》入选“中国油画艺术展”。1992年，油画《云在涌动》入选“建军65周年全国美展”。1993年，油画《界》、《走出沼泽》入选“中国油画双年展”，被台北辅仁大学胡泽民先生收藏；油画《祈》、《女人体》入选“香港中国油画展”、“中俄油画展”。1996年，水粉画《刘婧》入选“第三届全国水彩画、水粉画展”。1999年，水粉画《小月》入选“第九届全国美展”，并获河北省银奖。2000年，油画《红李子》、《瓷韵》等4幅作品参加“第九届台北国际艺术博览会”；油画《小月》获“中国油画大展”优秀奖，并被组委会收藏。2001年，肖像画《于斌枢机》陈列于台北辅仁大学。2003年，油画《雪域9·11》入选“法国巴黎中国艺术精品展”，并获优秀奖。2005年，参加在北京荣宝斋举办的“当代中国实力派画家7人展”；应加拿大安大略省美术会邀请，参加在加拿大多伦多举办的“中国实力派画家3人展”。

刘亚安从解放军艺术学院到中央美院，苦读西方大师的作品。既对学院派的素描色彩表现如醉如痴，又吸收当代构成和色彩对比手法，并从西方绘画中体味肌理节奏和色彩韵味，寻找灵感，埋头创作。经过艰难跋涉，熟练地把握了油画的技巧和形式，才气得到升华。他的创作可分为静物系列、少女系列、喇嘛系列。在他的笔下，老式家具上摆放的青花瓷、少女身后的残墙、雪地上几个喇嘛的窃窃私语等，质朴的画面折射出强烈的当代意识和文化价值，充分体现了他对人生和社会的思考，表现出一名艺术家在更深层面和广阔意义上的人文关怀。
