李玉昌，男，汉族，河北广宗人，1937年生。擅长油画。1962年毕业于中央美术学院油画系。北京画院教育部主任，国家一级美术师，中国美协会员，兼任北京国际艺术美术基金会秘书长。1979年发起成立“北京油画研究会”任负责人，曾先后组织四次大型油画展。1985年率“中国油画展览团”出国访问。
作品有《飘飘何所似，天地一沙鸥》《出塞曲》《春雨》等。出版有《石膏写生》《绘画基础九讲》、《无尽的怀念》，其中《五将图》《拾玉镯》《延边鼓声》《贵妃醉酒》分别为中国历史博物馆、沈阳博物馆、长沙博物馆、日本孔子庙博物馆收藏。《浅谈画法》《论创作》《线的表现力》《色彩的奥秘》等文章先后在《光明日报》《美术向导》等刊物上发表，论文集《寻求梦中的世界》。
