杜海涛（原名杜必成）天津宁河人，1944年12月生，1962年毕业于兰州师范学校。1992年至1994年于北京画院师从画马大师杨刚研修两年毕业。中国美术家协会会员、国家一级美术师、兰州画院高级画师。
几十年以来，杜海涛老师凭藉他天才智慧、自强不息的精神和对绘画艺术毕生追求，潜心研究绘画艺术，常年深入一线体验生活和出国访问交流，吸收融会西方油画的特点，将西方油画技巧与中国传统水墨画进行了完美结合，体现出极高的艺术修养和造诣。毕生不断地刻苦探索、努力追求，终成为熔古今中外技法于一体（熔东西方绘画技巧于一体）的艺术大师，是一位真正拥有思想的哲人式艺术家。
